who i am

i'm rahul. i run withqwerty, a one-person software company. i also make QFAX, a teletext-inspired football scores and news app. OPPS is the chaotic sibling.

why this exists

there's a specific joy that comes from watching your rival lose. not your team winning - that's different. this is darker. pettier. more satisfying.

i wanted that feeling delivered directly to my phone. no searching, no checking scores, no accidentally seeing my own team's result first. just pure, instant schadenfreude.

so i built it.

the philosophy

OPPS doesn't pretend to be noble. it's not about "the beautiful game" or "sporting respect". it's about Arsenal conceding in the 94th minute and you finding out before their fans do.

but here's the thing: good banter has boundaries. you can take the mickey until they're absolutely fizzing - that's the fun part. but there's a line where it stops being playful and becomes actual hatred, and then everyone stops having fun.

OPPS is meant to take the aggression out of it. no angry tweets, no pile-ons, no DMs. just a quiet notification, a private smile, and maybe a well-timed "unlucky mate" in the group chat. the schadenfreude stays personal. the friendships stay intact.

we also don't do betting. we don't sell your data. we don't track what you do with the notifications (though we can guess). your rival list stays on your device. your shame is your own.

why no ads?

i could run gambling ads. football apps love them. but then i'd be profiting from addiction, and that's not a trade i want to make.

so OPPS has a simple model: free to use, pay for extras. no tricks, no dark patterns. just misery alerts.
